Dr. Anderson is a licensed psychologist who earned her Ph.D. from Illinois State University in 2002. She completed an internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Anderson previously worked in a mental health group practice in Western Massachusetts for over ten years. She has been practicing in Florida for the past seven years.
Dr. Anderson provides counseling to children, adolescents, and adults. She utilizes a client centered approach with the implementation of supportive therapy and the use of cognitive behavioral techniques to promote positive change and personal growth.
Dr. Anderson has expertise assisting clients who are struggling with bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, complicated bereavement, adjustment to retirement, divorce, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Dr. Anderson works with both individuals and families. She is skilled in assisting parents with behavior problems, as well as helping parents support their children socially, and academically. She is trained in school psychology and able to support students with learning challenges and assist with educational programming. Dr. Anderson is also able to provide comprehensive psychological evaluations assessing learning issues (e.g., dyslexia, dysgraphia), ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and diagnostic assessment of social and emotional issues that can impact a student’s educational success.
